Matri Prochesta SHG Retail Shop
Forth comingWe are implementing a Micro Savings and Credit Project comprising 200 Self Help Groups (SHGs) with a total membership of 2,000 women. Through this project, women members receive small loans to initiate micro-income-generating activities such as food processing, handicrafts, tailoring, and other home-based enterprises.
While many women have started production activities, they face serious challenges in marketing and selling their products. Limited market access often restricts their income and growth. To address this gap, we have decided to establish a roadside community-based retail shop to support the sale of SHG-produced goods.
Proposed Initiative: Community-Based Retail Shop
We plan to establish a community-based retail shop to market and sell products produced by women members of our SHGs. This initiative aims to create sustainable livelihood opportunities for economically disadvantaged women by ensuring fair access to markets and steady income generation.
We Require
To successfully implement this initiative, the following are required:
- A room on long-term lease to operate the shop
- Basic equipment and furniture, including display racks, storage shelves, counters, tables, and seating arrangements
Expected Outcomes
The proposed shop will serve as a permanent marketing platform for SHG members to sell their handmade and locally produced goods. It will:
- Improve product visibility and sales
- Increase and stabilize women’s income
- Strengthen women’s economic independence and self-reliance
- Enhance the sustainability of SHG-led micro-enterprises
