Presently we have about 150 sponsored students. We provide this students Books & Study materials, uniform, school fees, Tuition fees, sometimes medical treatment etc. They also participate in our other child development activities like drawing, cultural activities, exposure visit etc. Normally we start sponsorship from early school age and continue but there are exception as well. The drop out can happen from both the sides.
We started this programme in 2001. Normally we sponsor children whose parents are working in unorganised sector, like mothers are working as a house cleaner and fathers are rickshaw pullers, construction labourers etc. daily wage earners. In most of the cases they are 1st. generation learner. So far our experience with sponsorship programme is really impressive. Most of the students have passed 12 standard. They have found better jobs than their parents. It has strong positive impact on their lifestyle. Some of our students have done outstanding results and have been very successful in academic field.
At present we have sponsors from 3 countries Belgium, Germany and Ireland. Actually the need for sponsorship is huge. We are practically very eager to help children through this programme as it’s a very meaningful and successfully proven way. We sincerely call for help who has possibility and would like to share with the have not’s.
